Why start a blog now?

Let's talk about that.

It seems like a horrible time to start a skincare blog in light of a global pandemic and a civil rights upheaval. It feels very frivolous to write about anything else when people are suffering. It's my privilege to be able to write about anything else. Taking that into consideration, I hope this blog provides a reprieve from all the ugliness going on in the world right now. I'm going to work hard to ensure this is an inclusive platform where everyone can find information and products for their skin color.

In regard to civil rights, there are so many better resources than myself to educate yourself about racism. If you listen to anyone, listen to black people first. Follow black professionals on social media, shop at black-owned businesses, sign petitions, watch movies, read. I believe that truth and understanding must come from perspectives outside of one’s own knowledge, especially if you're white. I am still learning... But it would be wrong to open a public platform without saying :

BLACK LIVES MATTER.
